MS Khalid, Bagerhat: Driver Sohaib Hossain was killed on the spot when a bitumen-laden truck (Jeshor-T-11-4678) lost control and fell into a ditch at Fakirhat in Bagerhat.
The accident took place on Friday (January 26) at 7:15 am in Bailtali area of Fakirhat upazila on Khulna-Mawa highway. At this time, Jahangir Sardar, the driver's assistant, was injured. He was rescued and taken to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex. The deceased truck driver Sohaib Hossain is the son of Nazrul Islam of Rasulpur area of Satkhira Sadar. He is the son of Babar Ali Sardar of Satkhira Sadar of the injured Jahangir. The station officer in charge of Fakirhat Fire Service and Civil Defense Station Sajahan Mia said, the truck was going to Mongla from Chittagong loaded with bitumen. On the way, he lost control and got stuck with a tree in Bailtali area of Fakirhat. The truck driver was killed on the spot and the driver's assistant was injured.
